Is Sightseeing Enough? — An Educational Expedition Program
Is Sightseeing Enough? is an annual educational program aimed at bringing to life the ideas of Akaki Bakradze’s essay of the same title: cultivating appreciation for cultural heritage, deepening understanding of it, and fostering a sense of responsibility for its preservation. As part of the program, each summer one significant cultural region is selected as the focus of study.
2026 Expedition: Tao–Klarjeti
This year’s expedition will take place in Tao–Klarjeti from July 23 to 27 and will bring together 15 motivated, publicly minded students from various universities. The expedition will be led by guide and historian Giorgi Magradze. Participants will have the opportunity not only to visit historical sites, but also to reflect deeply on the significance of our cultural heritage and to develop a practical project for its protection.
Participation in the program is fully funded: travel, meals, and accommodation expenses are covered by the Akaki Bakradze Society.
