The book offers a detailed account of the life and work of one of the most important and influential poets of the nineteenth century, Akaki Tsereteli. At the same time, the author thoroughly explores the historical, cultural, and political context of Tsereteli’s era, highlighting the poet’s connections with both well-known and lesser-known figures whose relationships played a significant role in shaping his personality and left a lasting mark on the beginnings and development of his literary career.
Accordingly, this book introduces readers not only to Akaki Tsereteli himself, but also provides insight into the activities of his contemporaries and presents a vivid portrait of the era, masterfully conveyed by the author. The volume is richly illustrated with photographs, copies of manuscripts and printed editions, drawings, and other fascinating archival materials.
